American Society of Reproductive Medicine Statement Confirms the Pill Causes Abortion
By Ellen M. Rice
December 12, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Amidst an ongoing debate among prolife advocates about whether to classify the Pill as an abortifacient or a prophylactic, pro-abortion advocates have published an authoritative statement declaring that the Pill prevents implantation of embryos, thereby causing an abortion.
In a supplement to its November 2008 issue, top reproductive health journal Fertility and Sterility published the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) statement, “Hormonal contraception: recent advances and controversies.”
In a summary of the development of contraception in the United States the statement called oral contraceptives the “most widely used” reversible method. In the “wide variety” of oral contraceptives that are available, the “mechanisms of action” are the same, said the statement: “inhibition of ovulation, alteration in the cervical mucus, and/or modification of the endometrium, thus preventing implantation.”
Pro-life advocates who oppose abortion, but not contraception, have long considered the Pill as an ethical contraceptive option, as opposed to the IUD, which causes abortions by preventing implantation. However, the statement by the ASRM clearly indicates that the pill is medically classified as a drug that acts by “preventing implantation,” thereby causing the death of a fertilized embryo – a unique and living human being.
A large body of literature supports this statement, including articles from Fertility and Sterility. The most significant of these is a 1996 study by a group of OB/GYNs from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, that concluded that “impaired uterine receptivity” is “one mechanism by which OCs exert their contraceptive actions.”

My Daughter, Mary Elizabeth, Sarah Palin & Post-Election Memories(scroll to bottom for explanation of photos)
Photos bottom to top (Click on photo for a closer view!):
My daughter Mary Elizabeth, holding, "Catholic Moms love McCain-Palin";
The wonderful group of Homeschooling moms and their children whom Mary and I had the privelage of "Raisin' McCain" with!; One of the moms, Megan, is the gifted and talented artist of all the colorful poster boards!;
A little girl named Sarah, who was dressed as Sarah Palin. When Sarah Palin came around to shake our hands, she said to little Sarah, "Wow, you look familiar! You remind me of me 40 years ago!";
Miraculously we went from having nosebleed seats to standing right behind the podium! When my little Mary yelled, "I love you Sarah Palin!" Sarah turned around, waved, and held the pose until my flash went off!
Thank You for sharing these wonderful memories with me.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Advent!
God Bless!

Mississippi Memorial Uses 50 Million Pennies to Mark 50 Million Abortion Deaths

Jackson, MS (LifeNews.com) -- Ever wanted to know what 50 million pennies looks like? A group of pro-life advocates in Mississippi found out as they collected 50 million of the coins for a unique memorial to mark the deaths of unborn children since Roe v. Wade allowed unlimited abortions in 1973.
The Mississippi Baptist Convention put together this one-of-a-kind visual reminder of the number of babies who have died from abortions.
The group collected pennies from church congregations across the state and erected a large glass house to store all the pennies the size of a backyard storage shed.
Called the Memorial to the Missing, the penny-filled structure contains a plaque that encourages visitors to the Baptist convention's headquarters -- and the legislature across the street -- to respect life.
"We just needed something to memorialize and help people see the magnitude of abortion over the last several decades," Rev. Jimmy Porter, the director of the MBC's Christian Action Commission, told the Jackson Clarion Ledger.
Rev. Clarence Cooper was the president in 2006 when the memorial was first erected and he told the newspaper he thinks it has been "real effective" in making people think.
Convention spokesman William Perkins also told the Ledger that, "There are a number of stories we've heard about grandparents who walk by and saw it and read the plaque and dug in their pockets and put pennies in the memorial for grandchildren who have been aborted."
The memorial structure weighs 300,000 pounds and the pennies add up to $500,000.
The plaque reads:
"Before you is a collection of 50 million pennies! Each penny represents one child who has been aborted since the Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade in 1973. A penny like a baby seems to be so small and sometimes of very little worth, but when seen in a collection of 50 million it becomes enormous.
Each coin is a person, but in many cases it also represents the difficult process of decision-making, fear, and loneliness. While some speak of pro-choice, these babies had no choice. While some speak of a mother's right to control her own body, 50 million babies were not given their right to live.
Fifty million missing children represented by these pennies must be cause for us to stop, pray, consider what we are doing as a nation, ask God to forgive us, seek ways to help those who are struggling with the decision, and look to the Lord to restore each of us."
