Pro-life Leaders Face Death Threats, Require Protection From Abortion Rights Radicals

Pewsitter: In the aftermath of the shooting of late-term abortionist, Dr. George Tiller, American pro-life leaders have been receiving death threats prompting round-the-clock protection from authorities.

Jill Stanek,
vilified last week at MSNBC,
is the Illinois nurse who exposed the practice of abandoning babies that survive abortions. She has tracked and reported on the career of Dr. Tiller for years at her blog. When I asked her this week about her own safety in wake of the shooting, Stanek said that she, along with Troy Newman of Operation Rescue and Fr. Frank Pavone at Priests for Life, had been receiving credible threats from a "troubled man involved in the abortion industry." Jill said that this individual is the child of a pro-choice advocate/writer and his mother had aborted several of his siblings. Following the Tiller shooting, the stalker emailed Stanek again. Federal agents are currently monitoring his movements.

Pro-life leaders have uniformly been forced to increase security measures to address threats of violence. In recent days Stanek has been placed under continuous police and federal protection following email threats to kill her at church or as she left her home

"Let me know which address is right, there's a few I could post. Or I could just drive around the houses and wait to see which one you walk out of.... Don't worry, I will find it."

Stanek also stated that her local pastors have gotten emails calling for her murder at church services.

"the least you could do is offer to hold a rifle blessing service in her honor."

When questioned about security, Fr. Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life, said that he needs armed escorts at speaking engagements to guard him against disruptive pro-abortion demonstrators. Individuals from groups such as NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and Catholics for Choice are often bussed in to derail these presentations. Even peaceful prayer vigils, so common to the pro-life movement, can be dangerous. Fr. Pavone was leading a prayer service in Bellingham, WA when someone confronted him and spit in his face. Prior to his appearances, local groups Fr. Pavone calls, "pro-abortion radicals and anarchists," often signal their intent to lead violent demonstrations; but in recent days he says he’s gotten more serious messages.

"Father Frank, It would make me very happy if someone were to respond to this by snuffing YOU. No fooling. Right-to-lifers, in my book, no longer have a right to life."

At the Priests for Life blog, another anonymous writer said:

"Killing Father Frank will not be murder. It will be justifiable homicide."

In November 2008, months before Dr. Tiller was murdered, Fr. Pavone received the following:

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR FATHER FRANK PAVONE

I am predicting that there will be more anti-abortion terror because of this election. I AM ALSO PREDICTING THAT THIS TIME IT WILL BE ANSWERED IN KIND BY PRO-CHOICE COUNTERTERRORISTS, who will mount similar terrorist attacks against well-known right-to-lifers. FATHER FRANK will be a natural target for pro-choice counterterrorists.

I therefore advise you, Fr Frank, if you read that there has been another abortion-clinic shooting or bombing, get out of town immediately. Take a vacation abroad. Go visit the Vatican. If there is another act of anti-abortion terror, your life will not be safe in the USA.

Good luck
.

Visible anti-abortion figures in this country get regular threats on their lives and receive violent anti-social messages. In 2008 UCLA undergrad Lila Rose garnered national attention for exposing illegal practices at Planned Parenthood clinics. The menacing emails have continued since Rose went public with her investigations.

Columnist and mother of nine, Jenn Giroux is founder of the pro-life group, Women Influencing the Nation. Giroux was a leader in the grass roots effort to take legal action against Tiller and his clinic. Following the shooting, she suspended her website, ChargeTiller.com, due to a barrage of profane and violent posts.

Pro-abortion aggression isn’t only a reality for movement leaders. Judie Brown heads up the American Life League, a landmark organization founded after Roe v. Wade. In response to our questions the league issued a statement. It calls to mind the hostility pro-lifers face at every level as they, "stand in beautiful and striking contrast to both the violence inherent to the abortion mill and the street-side violence and drive-by intimidation of abortion supporters."

**Human Life International has documented more than 8,519 acts of violence and illegal activities by pro-abortionists. These crimes include:
1,251 homicides and other killings
157 attempted homicides
28 arsons and firebombings
904 assaults
1,908 sex crimes (including 250 rapes)
106 kidnappings
420 cases of vandalism
290 drug crimes
1,616 medical crimes

Breaking News: Obama's Teleprompter Unable to Resolve the Chaos in Iran

I just had to post this awesome opinion/analysis piece written by Wesley Pruden from the Washington Times! So, grab a cup of coffee or tea...sit down, and enjoy! Truth couldn't be written more beautifully!

Silver linings are deceptive and often hard to find, but that might be a tiny sliver of silver in that dark cloudbank over Iran. Barack Obama got notice from the election results that his tongue, golden and honeyed though it may be, is no match for reality.

If Iranian voters had thrown Mahmoud Ahmadinejad into the street, the American president would have assumed that he was the One who did it, and the American press would have led the hosannas for the messiah from the south side of Chicago. Just a few more speeches, a few more respectful bows toward Mecca, and all the rough places would be made smooth and plain. But now even Mr. Obama must wake up and smell the tear gas.

The prospect that a victory by the Iranian moderates would cure what's wrong in the Middle East was a hookah dream from the start, a tale of the Arabian night indulged by those unable to bear the sight, sound and responsibility posed by reality. Iran is not ruled by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but by the head ayatollah, the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and his pigsty of brutal mullahs. Mr. Ahmadinejad never misses an opportunity to pay craven tribute to these unelected agents of harsh Islamic rule, always with a bending of the knee and a kiss for every outstretched holy hand.

Mir Hossein Mousavi, the current object of Western desire, put up the brave fight and now puts up a brave loser's front, stiff upper lip and all that. But he's under virtual house arrest as thousands of his supporters continue to throng the streets, screaming and vowing never to recognize a suspect verdict. He was reduced Monday to begging the mullahs to issue a fatwa decreeing that Mr. Ahmadinejad is not really the president, and asking the chief ayatollah to change his mind. He wants the government to dismiss the results and call a new election. All that, and a lollipop, too.

The election results, together with the high probability that the result was tinkered with if not rigged, and the cops and troops controlling the streets with clubs and tear gas suggest that, surprise, surprise, Mr. Ahmadinejad is getting away with it. From the capitals of the West, there was mostly spluttering and whining. The French foreign minister said the treatment of the demonstrators was "somewhat brutal," the operative word apparently the "somewhat," and the German government said the Tehran reaction was "unacceptable," which is diplo-speak for, "is there any more tea?"

There was all but silence from the White House, where Mr. Obama said he was pleased with the "robust debate" in Iran, proving only that he's easily pleased and eager to get back to what he does best, wrapping appeasement of the enemy in the sticky warmth of mere words. The "robust debate" Mr. Obama admired featured the opposition candidate smeared as both inspired by Hitler and a creature of the Jews, with skeptical newspapers shut down and Internet sites closed. Foreign observers were forbidden to watch and listen to the "robust debate." Given that nobody voted secretly - voters are easily identified and the naughty ones often punished - the 33 percent who voted for the opposition were brave, indeed.

Joe Biden, our long-missing veep, complains that "we just don't know enough," which is business as usual for good ol' Joe. (Nobody ever tells him anything.) "Is this the result of the Iranian people's wishes?" he asks. "The hope is that the Iranian people, all their votes have been counted, they've been counted fairly." Well, yes, we can all hope that.

But Mr. Obama will have to do better than admire "robust debate" and hope that once the evildoers hear the sound of his voice they will straighten up and fly right. Iranians, like everybody else, have a right to elect whomever they want, and even to steal elections without outside interference. The reality that President Obama must deal with goes beyond whether the election was free and fair. The mullahs who guide the hand of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have made it abundantly clear that they have an agenda, and intend to enforce it with the clenched fist Mr. Obama imagines he can unclench with a teleprompter.

Some people in the West - particularly in Washington - are tempted to dismiss the Iranian president as a clown and a fool, given to writing checks ("Israel must be wiped off the map") he could never cash. But these skeptics are the fools. President Obama must now rise to the occasion to deal with Iran as it is, and not as he wishes it to be. This is the job he said he wanted.

"What am I gonna tell the president?" Biden said as a gust of wind knocked down his left teleprompter. "I'm gonna tell him his teleprompter is broken. What will he do then?"

(Video) Letterman Apology: "Perception" vs. "Intention" of His "Flawed, Bad Joke"

Actress Cameron Diaz: "We don't need any more kids. There are plenty of people on this planet"

This saddens me to no avail. Children bring so much joy to this joyless world...so much happiness. One can only imagine what she and others like her are going through to come to such proposterous conclusions.

HOLLYWOOD, CA, June 15, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Cameron Diaz has said in an interview in the July issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine, which comes out tomorrow, that “We don't need any more kids. We have plenty of people on this planet.”

Don Feder, from Demographic Winter, commented to LifeSiteNews that Diaz thinks there are too many people on the planet, “Because people in Hollywood, the people she works with, the people she associates with, the people she attends parties with, all the beautiful people have told her this.”

“Why do they believe it? Because they grew up in a culture that’s been telling them the same thing for forty years now,” Feder said.

He continued, asking rhetorically, “does she know that birth rates are below replacement in almost the entire industrialized world. Does she know that birth rates have fallen by 50% world wide in the last 30 years?”

“Of course she doesn’t. All she knows is [that] she hears that there are too many people.”

“She sees pictures of people in India or in Beijing or in Shanghai or wherever, and therefore she surmises that there are too many people. If you asked her how many people are enough people she probably couldn’t tell you,” he said.

Diaz has a history of anti-life statements. In 2004, Diaz spoke of the need for women to vote because “women have so much to lose. I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies [right to abortion].”

She continued, comparing losing the “right” to one’s body to legalizing rape.

“If you think that rape should be legal, then don’t vote. But if you think that you have a right to your body, and you have a right to say what happens to you and fight off that danger of losing that, then you should vote,” she said.

Looking for Health Care Reform? Be Careful What You Wish For

Archbishop Raymond Burke Chastizes World's Largest Catholic News Organization - an Organ of the USCCB - from Rome

Pewsitter - Washington DC, USA (MetroCatholic)

Catholic News Service (CNS) – an agency of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops - is the world’s largest Catholic news organization of its kind. It was created in 1920 in order to serve as a reliable voice for communicating the Church’s message to a global audience, and today CNS generates news items and editorial pieces that are reprinted in more than 200 Catholic publications worldwide.

A success story? Not exactly.

In a piece published on the popular web portal Catholic Exchange, [full Story available here: http://catholicexchange.com/2009/06/11/119389/ ] author and columnist Louie Verrecchio outlines “CNS’ failure to consistently apply reliably Catholic editorial standards” throughout the tenure of Editor-in-Chief and Director Anthony Spence who joined CNS in 2004.

Earlier this year, Verrecchio notes, the situation at CNS “had become so problematic that Archbishop Raymond Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican, was moved to take the extraordinarily bold step of criticizing CNS from Rome, saying, ‘The bishops need to look at our Catholic News Service; they need to review their coverage of [the Church’s moral and social teachings] and give some new direction.’”

Among the problems Verrecchio documents is CNS’ syndication and distribution of columns written by Douglas Kmiec, the Catholic Pepperdine Law professor who campaigned for Barack Obama and recently applauded a proposal by NIH to fund embryonic stem cell research in his CNS column.

“How can anyone explain why Catholic News Service – an organ of the USCCB - would grant Kmiec’s opinions a de facto Imprimatur by syndicating his columns for distribution to Catholic publications all over the world,” Verrecchio asks?

“Reasonable observers cannot help but conclude that Tony Spence has made a conscious decision to throw down the gauntlet and is now daring the USCCB to hold him and CNS to accountability.”

After numerous attempts over a two week period prior to publication to solicit a response from Archbishop George Neiderauer, whose committee has oversight of CNS, Director of Media Relations for the USCCB, Sr. Mary Ann Walsh, ultimately stated that she had been unable to get in touch with the Archbishop. Anthony Spence has also, to this date, declined to respond.

“How will the USCCB respond to the challenge of CNS’ apparently unbridled hubris,” Verrecchio asks? “Stay tuned.”

“As responsible media consumers,” Verrecchio tells readers, “we must force publications like our local diocesan newspaper, and news outlets like CNS, to earn their keep by offering real value in the marketplace of authentic Catholic content.”

“Catholics, many of whom would never knowingly choose to underwrite Douglas Kmiec’s syndicated columns or the other kinds of questionable content CNS produces. They deserve to know exactly what kinds of activities their hard earned money is going to support,” Verrecchio said.

Louie Verrecchio founded Salve Regina Publications, Inc., based in Hampstead, MD, USA, specifically for the purpose of promoting and distributing the Harvesting the Fruit of Vatican II faith formation series (www.harvestingthefruit.com) . Bearing an Imprimatur, the conciliar document study guide that he authored has been enthusiastically endorsed by Cardinal George Pell, Fr. Peter F. Ryan, S.J., S.T.D., Fr. Peter Stravinskas, S.T.D., Ph.D., Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio, and others, and it has been in use by parish based faith formation groups and individuals worldwide since 2004.

Bill O'Reilly Compares Abortion in America to Mao's China, Hitler's Germany & Stalin's Soviet Union

THIS is why I love Fox News. They are the only media outlet reporting to the fullest extent the horror of abortion...and what happens? They are brutally attacked for it! It is SICKENING! No doubt about it...this segment proves just how venomous the liberal agenda really is.
The first part of this segment exposes the far-left loons who are, for now, running our beloved Country. These same people, along with the mainstream liberal media, are behind the campaign accusing Bill O'Reilly of being an "accomplice to Tiller's murder" calling him a "danger to society."
He replays a harrowing interview with a girl who left her "dead baby in a toilet" at Tiller's death camp at 13 years old.
O'Reilly closes his Talking Points Memo by saying that even though "what Tiller did was legal in Kansas," it was and is,
"absolutely wrong." God Bless Bill O'Reilly!!!
