I went to a "Catholic" prayer group last night, "An Evening of Recollection," in honor of St. Ignatius Loyola. Surrounded by friends and people that I have known for many, many years, I felt comfortable in recommending all present to fill out postcards requesting our Senators and Legislators NOT to sign the F.O.C.A. However, I was taken by surprise when someone present firmly disagreed with me and refused to take part in it. Sincerely wanting to understand her position, I asked her to extrapalate. She expressed her compassion for those who are raped, and those who get pregnant not by choice. When I started to explain that a baby is a baby no matter how it is conceived, she stopped me in my tracks and told me that she didn't want to talk about it anymore. Firmly, and with her hand raised, she said, "We are just going to have to agree to disagree about this." Another friend sensing discomfort intervened and changed the subject. It was quite uncomfortable and not the kind of thing one would expect to encounter at a Catholic Prayer group.
I beg all of you who are reading this, to please, pray for all those who are disillusioned by the lies of the devil: having a false sense of compassion and indifferent to what it truly means to be "loving." Pray for them to have a conversion of heart, especially during this week of prayer for Christian Unity honoring the conversion of St. Paul. For, I, too, once lived in that dark, broken, indifferent world. It was the powerful prayers of many people that rescued me from that quagmire. Also, please pray the Rosary for the pre-born baby, who is in danger of being killed. God Bless! ~ Georgia
